The Band Perry to Open ACM Awards; George Strait & Miranda Lambert to Sing Merle Haggard Medley

The Band Perry will open the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards with an explosive performance of their new single, “Chainsaw.” Co-hosted by Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan, the ACM Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, April 6 at 8/7c.

Additionally, Miranda Lambert and George Strait will perform a tribute medley in honor of Merle Haggard’s 50 years in country music, including “Tonight the Bottle Let Me Down” and “I’m a Lonesome Fugitive. Garth Brooks will present Merle Haggard with the Crystal Milestone Award honoring his legendary career.

Hunter Hayes will perform his new single, “Invisible,” in conjunction with ConAgra Foods’ Child Hunger Ends Here campaign and Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line will perform “This Is How We Roll” at the ACM Fan Jam via live remote at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, with stars from Nitro Circus showing off their BMX skills and more.

Previously-announced performers include Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Brett Eldredge, Toby Keith, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Lady Antebellum with legendary musician Stevie Nicks. Additional acts and presenters will be announced in the coming week.
